ONE PRODUCT DOES IT ALL

Not JUST for Fungus
This is Trooper's story (Day 1)
First photos received June 11, 2011 Before using Fungus Free
This stallion has pythiosis (Florida Leeches).  The owner contacted us the same day he was diagnosed. If you are not sure what you are looking at, this is his sheath. He also has spots broken out on his hindquarters and neck.

I got in touch with Five Star Fungus Free and co-founder Carol Walter, the afternoon my horse was diagnosed with pythium.  Since then, and for over two months, Carol has been an incredible supportIive, sharing past experiences, insights, and considerations to bring up with my vet.  I am not only grateful for Carol’s support but also for the Fungus Free products she and Sue Copeland offer.  Both the internal and topical treatments have helped my horse progress through the healing process as quickly as possible without any adverse reactions.  The topical Fungus Free has been an excellent fly repellant while helping close the sores.  I have also used it on small bumps as soon as they appear and they disappear.  I am very grateful for this effective non-toxic treatment.  Thank you Carol and Sue for offering your Fungus Free products!

Trooper is doing fine.  I haven't sent in many photos lately because we've had a bit of a set back, so there's not really any progress to show.  He found a way to chew himself through the slightly wider holes on the side of the muzzle.  I now have them duct taped up so hopefully we'll continue on the path to recovery swiftly.  It's made his sheath look more like the July/August photos, except maybe not so deep, it's more of a surface wound, I have not seen any kunkers, thank God!  He also had an old sore on his LF reopen for about a week, just a little bit, the size of a dime.  That is now closing up again. The hindquarter sore is doing very well.  The neck has been slower because he was rubbing it.  Now that it's a bit cooler I will get a fly sheet with a neck piece for him to wear, that should speed things along.  I still keep him in a fly mask and now wraps in front again.  He may be in the muzzle for a while still. And yes! We are riding!  I started walking him under saddle at the end of September and we're now doing a few minutes of trot each direction.

Trooper's neck and hindquarters are doing very well.  The opening on his sheath from early November (after he found a way to chew through his old metal muzzle - he's now using a plastic one with smaller openings) has expanded and kunkers have come out.  I'm hopeful it has enlarged as much as it will and can now begin receeding.

He is looking better.  Haven't seen any kunkers lately which is very nice.  Hair is closing in on the 2 body sores.
Yes, you are correct that you are seeing a tear in his sheath tissue.  It is actually healing well even with the cracks and crevices.  Healthy pink skin is starting to bubble through the raw red tissue.  And yes, no new sores!

I also want to let you know that the Hyperbaric chamber is now set up for CareCredit at PB Equine.  That was something I had asked them to initiate in the beginning of December when the tear was fresh and there were a bunch of kunkers.  It took them a few weeks to get it activated and by that time I decided we could get by without it.  However, that is now an option for anyone else.

I do feel we're in the home stretch.

Thanks for everything!
